Crochet a "Lace" Collar

for your Teddy!

Aren't these adorable crochet "lace" collars for teddy bears? My sister did the one on the right, but I crocheted the one on the left. For instructions, click this website -- it's free!  I also adjusted the number of chains for my collar -- I used 48 to start with, and played around with the pattern. That's why it looks different!

Thanks to Coats & Clark for the free pattern!

Designed by Michele Wilcox.

Doll measures 12” tall.

RED HEART® Super Saver®: 1 skein each of 360 Café Latte A, 312 Black B, 512 Turqua C, 385 Royal D, 254 Pumpkin E, 324 Bright Yellow F, and 319 Cherry Red G.

Crochet Hook: 3.75 mm [US F-5]. Yarn needle, stitch marker, stuffing.

GAUGE: 12 sts = 3”; 14 rows = 3” in single crochet. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Special Stitch
sc2tog = [Draw up a loop in next st] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES

  1. Gauge is not critical for this project. Work tightly so stuffing will not show between stitches.

  2. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Fasten off old color.

  3. Use photograph as a guide for placement of pieces to be sewn together.
